Everything you need to know about starting your therapeutic journey
Taking the first step toward therapy is a courageous decision, and I'm honored that you're considering our practice for your mental health journey. This page will help you understand what to expect as a new client and how to prepare for your first session.
My goal is to make the process as comfortable and straightforward as possible, so you can focus on what matters most—your healing and growth.
Reach out via phone, email, or our contact form. We'll schedule a brief phone consultation (15-20 minutes) to discuss your needs and determine if our practice is a good fit.
Complete intake forms through our secure SimplePractice portal. These forms help me understand your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy.
Forms typically take 15-20 minutes to complete and can be done from the comfort of your home.
Once paperwork is complete, we'll schedule your initial therapy session. First appointments are typically 75-90 minutes long to allow time for a thorough assessment.
We'll review your paperwork, discuss your goals, and begin developing a treatment plan together. This is also a time for you to ask questions and get to know how I work.
Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and establish a foundation for our work together. Here's what you can expect:
